Foldable Solar Container System
The Foldable Solar Container System is a solar container with battery storage, designed to combine solar generation, energy storage, and power conversion in one compact system. It helps users deploy clean power faster in remote, temporary, or weak-grid locations without building fixed solar infrastructure from the ground up.
With foldable PV modules, lithium battery storage, inverter, and power distribution integrated into a containerized structure, this solar battery storage container supports flexible power supply for off-grid sites, construction projects, emergency response, island power, and hybrid energy applications.

Optimized for Your Energy Needs
Integrated Solar + Storage
The system combines foldable PV modules, battery storage, inverter, and power distribution in one containerized solar power unit, helping provide solar generation and stored energy from the same system.
More Stable Off-Grid Power
As a solar container with battery storage, it can store solar energy during the day and support site loads when sunlight is unstable, helping improve power continuity in off-grid and weak-grid locations.
Faster Project Deployment
The foldable solar structure and integrated battery system help reduce separate equipment matching, field wiring, and installation work, making the system easier to deploy on temporary or remote sites.
Compact Site Arrangement
PV generation, battery storage, inverter, and distribution equipment are integrated into a containerized structure, helping save site space and simplify layout planning for project-based power supply.

Advantages of foldable solar container systems
The photovoltaic modules of the foldable solar container system are installed on a foldable frame inside a standard 10GP or 20HQ container, so the entire unit can be transported in the size of a regular container, and the modules are protected during transport. On site the array folds out - 72 modules for 38.88 kWp on the 10GP, 128 modules for 92.16 kWp on the 20HQ - with no separate racking or ground-mount to build. When the site closes or the load moves on, the array folds back in and the unit is ready for the next location.
The PV array, the LFP battery, the hybrid inverter and the distribution are already wired together in the container. The panel mounting, racking, field cabling and equipment matching that a built-from-parts solar install needs are done at the factory, so crews unfold and connect the system instead of assembling it on site.

Polinovel Foldable Solar Container System: Two Configurations
The Foldable Solar Container System comes in two sizes, so the solar and storage are matched to the site rather than the other way round.
Both run LFP 100Ah cells in 40.96 kWh clusters - two clusters on the 10GP, five on the 20HQ.
When a project needs more storage than one foldable unit carries, the same battery hardware scales up across the Containerized BESS range.
10GP · COMPACT
- Fold-out PV:38.88 kWp
- LFP storage:80 kWh
- Hybrid inverter:15 kW
- PV modules:72 × 540 W
- Weight ≈ 7 t
Sized for smaller off-grid loads and sites where shipping weight matters.
20HQ · HIGH CAPACITY
- Fold-out PV:92.16 kWp
- LFP storage:200 kWh
- Hybrid inverter:50 kW
- PV modules:128 × 540 W
- Weight ≈ 14 t
Sized for heavier loads or longer runtime between sun hours.
Off-grid, grid-tied and hybrid power
The hybrid inverter switches the system between off-grid, grid-tied and hybrid modes.
Four MPPT trackers and a 150–850 V MPPT window keep output steady as the sun moves and clouds pass.
Off-grid
PV charges the battery through the day; the battery carries the load after dark.
Grid-tied
Runs with the local grid at 230/400 V, 50/60 Hz for self-consumption or support.
Hybrid + diesel
Backs up with an external 15 kW (10GP) or 50 kW (20HQ) generator, switching in ≤10 ms so critical loads never drop.
What can a Foldable Solar Container System provide?
Yearly output tracks local sun hours. At 1,460 effective sun hours a unit produces
about 56,765 kWh on the 10GP or 134,554 kWh on the 20HQ; at 1,825 hours that climbs to roughly 70,956 kWh
and 168,193 kWh. After sunset the battery covers site loads for 12 to 19 hours, depending on size and draw.

Applications
Folding changes where solar makes sense. The Foldable Solar Container System suits sites that need real capacity but can't wait on a fixed build, or that may move on later. It sits alongside the wider Solar Container range for fixed, mobile and higher-capacity projects.
Remote and off-grid sites - islands, rural areas and bases with no stable grid.
Construction and project power - site power that moves with the project.
Mining and remote industry
Emergency and disaster response - solar trucked in and unfolded where the grid is down.
Telecom and remote equipment - steady power for sites far from the grid.
Foldable Solar Container System - FAQ
Q: What makes a Foldable Solar Container System different from a fixed solar container?
A: The PV array is pre-mounted on a folding frame in the container, so the unit ships compact, unfolds on site without separate racking, and folds back in to relocate. A fixed container still needs its panels and racking built and wired on site.
Q: How much solar and storage does it have?
A: 38.88 kWp of PV with 80 kWh of storage on the 10GP, and 92.16 kWp with 200 kWh on the 20HQ, using 540 W modules and LFP 100Ah cells.
Q: Can it run without the grid, and with a generator?
A: Yes. It supports off-grid, grid-tied and hybrid operation, and runs with an external 15 kW or 50 kW diesel generator that switches in ≤10 ms to keep critical loads supplied.
Q: How long does the battery run without sun?
A: Around 12 to 19 hours, depending on configuration and load. The LFP battery holds 80 kWh (10GP) or 200 kWh (20HQ) of usable energy.
Q: What container sizes are available?
A: A 10GP unit at around 7 tonnes and a 20HQ unit at around 14 tonnes, each shipping as one integrated container.
Q: What conditions can it handle?
A: IP65 with C5 corrosion protection, −20 °C to +50 °C, 0–95% non-condensing humidity, and up to 4,000 m altitude.
